1. BODY
- Any 1960 and newer American made rear wheel drive passenger car
allowed. NO front wheel drive, No convertibles, pickups, station
wagons, sports models permitted. Minimum wheelbase of 101"
measured on the shortest side. Body must be a complete stock appearing
STEEL unit with the exception of fiberglass / aluminum hood or trunk
lid if it was O.E.M. when made. NO aftermarket body parts of fiberglass
or aluminum. NO altering, shortening, channeling, chopping of body
permitted. NO air dams or ground effects. Back Trunk Spoiler no
higher than 3 inches. Stock bumpers mandatory and should be strapped
to body. Stock firewall and full floorboard required inside of body.
Driver's area will have complete and sealed firewalls between engine
and trunk area. Inner front and rear fender wells may be removed.
All trunk area floor may be removed. Doors must be welded or bolted
securely shut. Hoods will run at all times except when damaged.
All glass must be removed except for front windshield that must
be strapped in to place. Metal screen of ¼" mesh or
larger allowed and must cover entire windshield area. Side rails
on body permitted with 1 ¼" O.D. maximum diameter and
must be within 1 ½" of body panel. Front and Rear tow
chain loop required.
2. FRAMES - AMERICAN MADE STOCK
STEEL FRAME ONLY, Frame must be Ford to Ford, GM to GM, etc.
NO aftermarket frames permitted. Unibody frames may be connected
at each end with minimum 2" x 3" .120 wall tubing.
3. WHEELS - Steel wheels ONLY -
NO width limit - NO bead locks - Reinforced or racing wheels recommended.
NO Bleeder Valves allowed.
4. TIRES - SLICKS ONLY -
Maximum 11" wide contact surface. NO grooving, siping, or altering
of tire.
5. SUSPENSION - O.E.M. STEEL
leaf springs, torsion bars, and coil springs ONLY. Mounting
and location must remain stock on frame. Weight Jack bolts and adjustable
shackles permitted. NO coil over shocks, coil over eliminators,
air shocks, torque arms, fifth arms, or aluminum shocks. NO independent
rear axles. NO rack and pinion steering. Steering Box must be in
stock location and maybe quickened. Any steel shock mounted in any
position permitted. Sway bars/pan hard bars allowed but must be
O.E.M. components. All suspension components will remain unaltered
and stock with the exception of modifying for shock mounting and
weight jacks.
6. REAR END - Any stock rear end
allowed but must be in stock location and use stock mountings for
frame. NO Truck or quick change rear ends. Rear end may be locked.
NO truck trailing arms permitted.
7. DRIVELINE - Drive shaft must
be painted white. Drivelines must be strapped or chained at both
ends for safety. NO aluminum drivelines.
8. ROLLBARS - Must be a six-point
STEEL cage type with a minimum tubing size of .090 wall by
1 ¾" O.D. Cage must be welded to main frame with gussets
at all six points. Cage on Unibody frames will have (6) minimum
4" square plates 3/16" thick welded to cage and bolted
with (4) 3/8" bolts to floor. Drivers side of cage will have
at least 3 door bars and a minimum of (2) door bars on other side.
Cage must be braced from side to side. Gussets recommended at all
joints. Roll Cage is subject to inspection for construction and
workmanship at any time. Padding of roll cage in drivers area mandatory.
9. SEAT - Racing or bucket type
seat mandatory. Seat must be mounted to roll cage or main frame.
Headrest recommended. Subject to inspection.
10. BRAKES - O.E.M. brake components
ONLY. Brakes must be on all (4) wheels and be able to stop all wheels.
NO aftermarket brakes or hubs. Minimum of ½" diameter
wheel studs mandatory. O.E.M. disc brakes may replace O.E.M. drum
brakes assembly but must remain same make.
11. TRANSMISSION - Any O.E.M. production
transmission with at least on forward and reverse gear. Automatic
transmissions allowed but must have working torque converter. Manual
transmission must use a stock type clutch disc and pressure plate
assembly with a minimum 10" clutch disk. NO multiple disc or
ram type clutches. Approved steel scatter shield / bell housing
or blanket mandatory.
12. FUEL TANK - Approved steel tanks
only. Fuel Cells recommended - tank must be mounted to frame in
trunk area and must be protected on all sides and bottom. Subject
to inspection. Fuel tank must be completely sealed from driver compartment.
13. FUEL - Pump or racing gas only
- NO methanol, nitrous oxide, nitro methane permitted. No electric
fuel pump. Any fuel lines in driver's compartment must be fully
enclosed in metal.
14. ENGINE - No cubic inch limit.
No overhead camshafts - O.E.M. production cast iron steel block,
heads, manifold ONLY. Stock cast iron intake manifold ONLY.
Vortech Cylinder heads optional, No porting or polishing of intake/exhaust
manifolds or cylinder heads. Stock cast iron exhaust manifold ONLY
- NO HEADERS. Maximum of (1) 2 B.B.L. Carburetor of production
type, Holley replacement carburetor OK. Maximum of 1" thick
spacer block permitted between carburetor and intake manifold. Air
cleaner required. No roller camshafts, roller lifter or gear drives.
Hydraulic or flat tappet camshaft only. No aluminum or steel billet
rocker arms. Stamped steel or cast roller rocker arms permitted.
Oil pan and capacity may be modified but must be a wet sump systems.
Any ignition system permitted except for MAGNETO or crankshaft
type systems. Engine must be make to make such as Ford to Ford,
GM to GM. All cars must run mufflers at all times and not exceed
95 dab's @ 100 feet. Exhaust must exit behind driver. Engine location
to be centered between main frame rails and in stock location.
15. SEAT BELTS - Must be a quick
release racing five point system. Lap belt must be 3-inch minimum.
Shoulder belts must be 2-inch minimum with a 2-inch sub belt. Belt
system mounting must be attached to cage or frame with grade 5 bolts
or better. Subject to inspection. Window net required on drivers
side.
16. HELMET - MUST BE WORN AT
ALL TIMES ON TRACK. Helmet must meet Snell standards and be
in good condition.
17. SUIT - Fire suits of flame-retardant
material must be worn by driver. Nomex suits recommended. Gloves,
shoes and underwear of fire resistant material are recommended to
be worn while driving.
18. SAFETY - One working 2 ½
lb fire extinguisher must be mounted within reach of driver. No
oil coolers in drivers compartment. Battery must be securely mounted
and covered if in drivers area. Any ballast weight must be bolted
with ½" bolts and painted white with car number on it.
19. NO RADIO - NO RADIOCOMMUNICATION
EQUIPMENT PERMITTED.
20. NO REAR OR SIDEVIEW MIRRIORS.
