Coming off the exciting news that we will be allowed 100% capacity from this point on. We now head into one of the biggest weekends of the entire season. 2 days of exciting racing action will be heading your way this Saturday and Sunday, July 3rd and 4th. Both nights will see the IMCA Stock Cars, Deering Management Group Micro 600 Opens, IMCA Modifieds, and NW Dwarfs, with a fireworks display scheduled to cap off July 4 program.
Stock cars will be heading into the 2 day weekend with 2 races completed so far in 2021. Vancouver’s Jerry Schram is currently undefeated and will look to continue that feat. To say he will be tested this weekend is a severe understatement, as drivers have committed from California, Oregon, and Washington already as they look to claim what will be the biggest paying race in Banks history on Sunday. After the dust settles on a standard 30 lap feature Saturday to make sure everyone has their cars where they want them, even more drivers will be pulling in Sunday to do battle at the Firecracker 100. The 100 lap finale will pay $5,000 to the winner, as well lock them in with a automatic berth in the B&B Chassis Stock Car All Star Invitational at the IMCA Supernationals in September at the Boone Speedway in Iowa.
For the Deering Management Group Micro 600 Open division this will mark Race #1 at SSP in 2021 for them. This will also be rounds 2&3 of the Herz Precision Parts Micro 600 Showdown, a 5 race series split between Deming Speedway in Washington, and Sunset Speedway this summer. The champion of the mini series will walk away with $1,000 after the August 7 finale at Sunset.
In IMCA Modified action it’s been the same story both races, the Albany based #25 car piloted by Craig Cassell currently has been unmatched. Cassell will be heading into the 2 day weekend looking to extend his current points lead at the Bullring.
In NW Dwarf action this will be Race 5 in the 2021 season, and the first featured at the 1/4 mile banks Bullring.. Josh King has picked up 2 wins, while Shawn Dorie, and Anthony Pope have one a piece.
