Arnie Case Wins The Bobby Morley Memorial At SSP; J. Martin, Van Ortwick, Myers, Hughes, And B. Ruth Also Get Wins

Banks, Oregon- The 2019 racing season finally got underway last Saturday, April 27th, at Sunset Speedway Park. The “Banks Bullring” hosted the third running of the Bobby Morley Memorial which featured many of the top Street Stock teams in the Pacific Northwest. Also, in action were the IMCA Modifieds, Dwarf Cars, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, 4-Bees, and IMCA Sport Mods.
Arnie Case, of Vancouver, Washington, backed up his 2018 dominance with a victory in the Bobby Morley Memorial. With the win Case is the only driver to have won the Morley twice and has made it two wins in a row of the event. Warren veteran Jeremy Martin posted a huge victory in the IMCA Modifieds while Brad Ruth was the winner of the IMCA Sport Mod race.
In the Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks it would be Jacob Myers hitting pay dirt in the first race of the year. Scappoose pilot Jake Van Ortwick managed to win in his first outing in the Dwarf Cars and it was Jeremy Hughes winning in the 4-Bees.
Sunset Speedway Park will have racing action return to the ¼-mile clay oval on Saturday, May 4th, for 98.7 The Bull Night. Classes on the card include IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, 4-Bees, and both classes of Micro Sprints.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing kicking off at 6:00. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00.
