Tenney, Brookshire, Little, Maltais, And Potter Park It In SSP Victory lane

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park would return to racing on Saturday, September 23rd. The “Banks Bullring” has just a handful of races left for the season which means drivers only a couple of more opportunities to claim their respected champions. Classes in action included the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Pure Stocks, New Bees, and both classes of Micro Sprints.
Clark Tenney would park in victory lane for the second time of the season in the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds. Albany's Craig Cassell would get the job done as far as the championship was concerned to win his third straight title. Larry Brookshire was victorious in the Pure Stocks to gain his fifth triumph of the year.
A new face would grace the winner's circle in Nee Bee competition. Ryan Potter would claim the win and Kaylee Batalgia managed to earn the title. In the 600cc Open Micros Jeff Little not only would win his fourth win of the year but also the track championship. In the 600cc Restricted Micros Braden Maltais finished on top for the fifth occasion as well as claiming the title.
Sunset Speedway Park has one last bout of action remaining on the 2017 schedule. Saturday, September 30th, will decide the championship points race for the Bridgeport Logistic Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and 4-Bees. Also racing, but not for points, will be Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, and IMCA Sport Mods. After the races there will be a pot luck in the pit area.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00.
