SSP Ready For Open Wheel Frenzy On July 22nd

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park returns to racing on Saturday, July 22nd, for the Open Wheel Frenzy. This night will be full of “open wheel” divisions and is going to be one exciting night of racing. It will feature the return of both the Wingless Sprint Series and Northwest Focus Midget Series. In addition to the two tours there will also be Dwarf Cars and both divisions of Micro Sprints.
Dwarf Cars will see both the Northwest Dwarfs and Pacific Hardtop Racing Association (PHRA) clubs in action. Ryan Martinez is atop the win chart with three victories while Jake Van Ortwick, Shane Youngren, and Jimmy Brinster have all won once.
In the 600cc Open Micro Sprints there has yet to be a repeat winner. Jeff Little, Derek Torkelson, Casey Starr, Chance Crum, and Colby Thornhill have all inhabited victory lane. Leading the win chart in the 600cc Restricted Micro ranks is Braden Maltais, with two wins, while one-time victors include Colby Thornhill, Lane Taylor, and Dakota Drake.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00.
