Craig Cassell Wins SSP Modified Topless 100; Krohling And Wegner Also Get Wins

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park would host the Modified Topless 100 on Saturday, July 15th. The event is the only night on the schedule where the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds pop the tops off and compete for one-hundred laps at the "Banks Bullring". Also on the card for competition were the Pure Stocks and 4-Bee's.
Craig Cassell would continue the tradition of a different winner each year for this event. Going back to 2011 there has not been a repeat victor. It was the first triumph of the 2017 campaign for the Albany ace.
In the Pure Stocks Tanner Krohling would once again get the job done. It is the second occasion that he has done so this season. In the 4-Bee division T.J. Wegner made it two wins in a row. Wegner was the winner on Thursday night and is currently on a hot streak.
Sunset Speedway Park returns to racing on Saturday, July 22nd. The night is being as the Open Wheel Frenzy as all division in action are considered "open wheel". The Wingless Sprint Series make their return to SSP as the Northwest Focus Midgets will be on hand and so will the Dwarf Cars and both classes of Micro Sprints.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00.
