Sunset Speedway Park Ready For Saturday June 24th Event

Banks, Oregon- The action and fun continues at Sunset Speedway Park this Saturday, June 24th, as the racing season is now in full swing. The “Banks Bullring” prepares for another thrilling card of racing at the ¼-mile clay oval. Classes racing include the IMCA Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, Dwarf Cars, and both classes of Micro Sprints.
John Henry has been perfect in the IMCA Sport Mods. Henry has won both races that have been completed thus far and is looking to make it three for three. Larry Brookshire has two Pure Stock wins to his credit while Rob Ferree and Tanner Krohling.
Expect to see a healthy car count for the Dwarf Cars a both the Northwest Dwarfs and the Pacific Hardtop Racing Association clubs will be in attendance. Ryan Martinez has recorded an impressive three wins in 2017 while Shane Youngren and Jake Van Ortwick have one each.
The Micro Sprints haven’t been in action for quite some time but are always fun to watch. The 600cc Restricted division has witnessed Lane Taylor, Colby Thornhill, and Dakota Drake procure victories. In the 600cc Open Derek Torkelson, Chance Crum, and Thornhill have gotten wins.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00.
