Saturday August 13th 98.7 The Bull Drivers Appreciation Night Next For SSP

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park awaits one of its most popular races of the season, Drivers Appreciation Night presented bt 98.7 The Bull. This will be the third consecutive year the “Banks Bullring” has hosted this event and is a wonderful opportunity to get up close with all of your favorite drivers. The ¼-mile clay oval will be hosting a whopping nine total classes including Super Late Models (along with the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series), Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, Dwarf Cars, 4-Bees, and both classes of Micro Sprints. With so many classes participating it will be main events only.
The Late Models will invade SSP for the sixth time this season. In five previous trips, there have been five different winners. Jason Johnson, Jerry Schram, Joey Tanner, Collen Winebarger, and Greg Walters have all visited victory lane once.
Kyle Yeack and Craig Cassell are now tied for the most victories in the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds. Both drivers have two wins to their credit while single-race winners include Bubba Foster, Kenny Miller, Collen Winebarger, John Campos, and Kellen Chadwick.
Arnie Case continues to reign supreme in the Bridgeport Logistics Street Stocks. Case has six wins and is the only driver to have won more than once. Doug Pitsch, Benny Sauter, Travis Koch, Chris West, and Roger Hubbard complete the list of one-race winners.
After last weekend it is now a three-way tie in the win column in the IMCA Sport Mods. Mike Graham, John Henry, and Michael Melton are all neck-and-neck at three victories each. Chris Frisbie is the only other winner with just one trip to victory lane.
Trevor LaBarge has practically put together a perfect record for the Pure Stocks. LaBarge has won every single race except for one. Joey Tardio has one win while LaBarge has six.
Shane Youngren has been wicked fast in 2016 in the Dwarf Cars. Youngren has won five times while Guy Tow Jr. has done so twice. Jimmy Brinster and Marty Holmason are the only two drivers to have won once.
In the 4-Bee ranks, Tylor Owen has a season leading four triumphs. Danny Asher, William Wolfe, and Cody Jones have gotten the job done one time apiece.
With his win last weekend Jeff Broadwell is now tied with Devon Borden for the most wins this year in the 600cc Micro Sprint Open division. They both have won twice while Joe Constance, Jesse Schlotfeldt, and Jon Farrell have won just a single time.
In the 600cc Micro Sprint Restricted Lane Taylor is the dominant force. Taylor has four trips to the winner’s circle over Dakota Drake, Jesse Schlotfeldt, and Kaden Holm. Drake, Schlotfeldt, and Holm have one win to their credit.
Pit Gates on Saturday will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30. Tickets for this event are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
