Shane Youngren Wins First Dwarf Car Race Of 2015

Also on the racing card on Wednesday June 17th at Sunset Speedway Park was the Northwest Dwarf Cars. The division would play the role of support class to the IMCA Modifieds. A total of seven entries would be in attendance representing the states of Oregon and Washington.
Sezing the lead on lap one was the Tommy's Transmissions/Home Turf Sport Bar #18 D&R of Shane Youngren. Youngren, from Tigard, would be under quite a bit of pressure at some moments but as the race went along he would be able to stretch his lead. When it was all said and done Youngren would cross the wire the leader for his first triumph of the season.
Rainier's Guy Tow Sr. was second in his Two Guys Racing #46 M&M followed by Creswell native Kevin Hicks in third driving the Hicks Family Racing/The Wright Shop/Cindy Sew It/B-Rad Motorsports #78 Philpott. The TPR Industrial Supply #5 entry of Ted Rees from West Linn managed to finish in fourth while Gresham's Neal Hopwood was fifth in his 3 Mutts Racing/Iron Workers Credit Union/Premier Aircraft Engines #48 M&M machine.
Sunset Speedway Park returns to racing on Saturday June 20th for Premier Community Bank-Habitat For Humanity Night. Classes on the card include the Northwest Wingless Tour, IMCA Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, 4-Bee's, and the Late Model Lites.
Pit Gates on Saturday will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30. Tickets for this event are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
