Bob Valencia has been named the 2015 Wild West Modified Speedweek race director. Valencia is the current race director at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington, a position he has held for about fifteen years. He brings to the tour tons of experience especially when it comes to officiating big events such as the annual Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals.
“I'm super excited,” said Valencia, “I really enjoy the Modifieds and the people that are involved with the teams.”
Things will open up on Saturday June 13th at Southern Oregon Speedway to open things up followed by Sunday the 14th at California's Siskiyou Motor Speedway and back in Oregon at Coos Bay Speedway on Monday the 15th. Tuesday June 16th will feature the Cottage Grove Speedway while the following night, Wednesday the 17th, action will take place at Sunset Speedway Park in Banks. A travel date on Thursday the 18th will bring a brief pause to the action before two consecutive nights of racing will close things out at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon on Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th.
“These guys are serious about racing but know how to fun at the same time,” continued Valencia.
IMCA Modified rules will be utilized at all races and each night the entry fee is $80.00. Every night's feature is $1,000.00 to win and $100.00 just to start. A $3,000.00 point fund will be up for grabs for drivers that are able to make every single race. We can't wait for everyone to be apart of this incredible event as it sounds like it will be the best yet. Also the fine folks at Speed Shift TV will be covering select races to broadcast to the entire world just how competitive IMCA Modified racing is in the Pacific Northwest.
For any drivers that have any questions feel free to contact Race Director Bob Valencia at (360)-470-6113 or Nikki Gamell at (503)-476-7206. See everyone this June.
