Banks, Oregon- One of the several teams that will be traveling from northwest Washington to Sunset Speedway Park is Chance Crum. The Snohomish teenager was victorious in his last visit to the “Banks Bullring” and he will look to pick up another victory as he will compete in the Spring Challenge presented by 98.7 The Bull on Saturday May 23rd and Sunday the 24th. Surprisingly he has only raced half a dozen or so times this season due to the weather not fully cooperating.
“We've ran at a few different tracks this year and that has caused us to struggle with setups," said Crum, "but we have also found a couple of issues with the car and so moving forward we should be faster..”
Crum's best run so far at his home track, Deming Speedway, is a seventh on May 1st. He finds himself situated eleventh in the current points standings. The pilot of the Clean Crawls/Woodinville Import Auto Repair/AirVan #83C PMP is very excited to take on the competition this weekend.
“There will be a lot of good guys coming down so it should be fun.”
Sunset Speedway Park is a track that Chance really likes. In fact when he won the main event on May 2nd it was his first ever appearance at the 1/4-mile clay oval.
“We were real fast the last time I was there and I absolutely loved running the top of the race track.”
