Sunset Speedway Park would host Bud Light Lime-A-Rita Ladies Night on Saturday May 9th. A good crowd would be in attendance to watch some fantastic racing action. Classes in competition included the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, Dwarf Cars, and the 4-Bee's.
Jeff Lovell, of Oregon City, was on a rail in his Lovell Truck Sales/Lovell & Hall #40 Shaw in the Budweiser IMCA Modfieid main event. Lovell would pull away from the field building a sizable lead. Crossing the wire still in possession of the top spot Lovell would capture his first win of the season and the third different winner in the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds in 2015.
Albany's Craig Cassell would once again finish second in the Ester Lee Motel of Lincoln City/Corvallis Seed & Feed/Dr. Mary Harada Breast Cancer Specialist/Debra Herndon Family Nurse Practitioner #25 Rocket by Ruhlman while in third was defending champion Doug Lockwood, of Aloha, in his Jackson Industries/Walters Racing/Frickentool.com/Warpaint Motorsports Graphix #66 Shaw. The Privateer Racing/Ireland & Ireland At Law #96X Dirt Works of Oscar Luckman, from Banks, was fourth and Vancouver, Washington's Kenny Miller completed the top five, in fifth, piloting the Triple E Ranch/VP Braille Services/GRV Mobile RV Repair/Vancouver Go Karts #57 TRE.
The IMCA Sport Mods were also in the house. Vancouver, Washington native Pamela Graham would be the highest finisher among them in her Perfection Automotive/21st Century Towing/Meyers Auto Body/Freeman Tile #12X FR1. Michael Melton, out of Battle Ground, Washington, was second in the Dan Jones Conveyor Trucks/Deanna Melton Reality/Hollywood's Custom Design/M&M Racing #04 Pro while Ocean Shores, Washington chauffeur Ken Frisbie was scored in third in his Frisbie Motorsports #99 entry.
Trevor LaBarge, from Forest Grove, was in dominant form once again. LaBarge, driving the DVC Machine/Pure Addiction Diesel Performance/S&R Motorz #7 Camaro, distanced himself from the rest of the field once securing the race lead. He would remain the leader for the rest of the distance to record his second consecutive win of the season and became the first repeat winner of the current Pure Stock campaign.
Yamhill's Terry Houck was second in his Luttrell's Trucking/Trask Mountain Outpost/Sweere's Trucking #58 entry followed by the DVC Machine/Dave's Automotive/Transaction Transmission #02 Camaro of Marcie Treat from Cornelius in third. The balance of the top five would consist of Hillsboro's John Henry in fourth, driving the Ernest Racing/Henry Racing/TK's Auto Repair/Joe's Auto Body and Paint #68 Camaro, while the Peterson Racing #33 of Jim Peterson was fifth.
It was another caution filled Dwarf Car event. Lot's yellows would take place and the feature would be a race of attrition. Saint Helens driver Chris McCleary would start towards the front and get to the lead. Staying in that position for most of the race he would be the winner in his McCleary Racing #8 M&M. He would become the second different winner in two races.
Kyle Thompson of Hillsboro was second in the LandShaper Brush & Excavating #40 Arizona while third would go to the Hicks Family Racing/The Wright Shop/B-Rrad Motorsports #78 Phillpott of Kevin Hicks from Creswell. Kevin's son, Brian and also of Creswell, would place fourth in his Hicks Family Racing/The Wright Shop/B-Rrad Motorsports #76 JT Go Fast and in fifth was the Ross Racing #5K of Brandon Ross.
Last but not least was the 4-Bee's where Bob Ferree from Vancouver, Washington was the car to beat for much of the race. Ferree, in his Mudd Monkey Mobile Mix Concrete/Korner Street Bar & Grill/Eagle Creek Saloon #24 Acura Integra, would unfortunately suffer a flat tire while negotiating lapped traffic resulting in him surrendering the lead. William Wolfe would eventually take over the top spot and went on to put his Wolfe Racing #8 Toyota Celica in victory lane.
Nathan Owen, of Vernonia, was second in the TK's Auto #1 entry followed by the Mastrangelo Racing #00 Ford Probe of Mike Mastrangelo from Banks in third.
