Banks, Oregon- 2015 has been a little rough for Brandon Potter but the St. Helens native is looking to have his best run of the season this Saturday, May 9th, at Sunset Speedway Park's Bud Light Lime-A-Rita Ladies Night. Although he has yet to make a feature the Ri-Ky Roofing/West End Performance #11 Shaw entry has been learning and getting faster each week.
“It's been a pretty rough year so far working all the bugs out,” said Potter, “the first night we had a flat and last week we were fighting a bad push.”
Over the offseason Potter acquired a new race car chassis, a Shaw, and has been adjusting to the switch from his Pro chassis. Once everything is dialed in look for Brandon to be a threat to win. His father, Jim, will be racing this weekend in the IMCA Sport Mod division. Brandon finished inside the top five seven times in the Sport Mod class last year and even won the June 14th event.
“We're going to go out and try and do our best and keep learning how this four-bar chassis works.”
Like always the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds will be competing for $650.00 to win which should bring out some stiff competition. Other classes on the card include the IMCA SportMods, Pure Stocks, Dwarf Cars, and 4-Bee's. Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30. Being that it's Bud Light Lime-A-Rita Ladies Night all ladies will get into the races for just $5.00. Tickets for this event are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
