Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park is set to host their biggest Modified race of the year on Saturday September 6th. The Topless Modified Mayhem 100 presented by Dancin Bare will feature the area’s best Modified pilots on the “Banks Bullring” for one-hundred laps of side by side and door to door action. This is an event you do not want to miss.
“I’m glad we can be part of something that we started and have helped grow this event into the Northwest's biggest Modifed shows of the year’” commented Danny Daniels, Owner/Operator of the Dancin’ Bare Gentleman’s Club, “I’m really looking forward to it.”
A couple of things that makes this different from other races is that this is an open comp Modified event requiring roofs to be detached and it will not be an IMCA point race. The feature is $1,000.00 to win, to be paid out in cash, trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers, and all sideboards are limited to 60-inches long by 24-inches high. All other rules must either comply with the IMCA or USRA rules packages.
Last year Mark Carrell would dominate the one-hundred lap event leading from lap twenty-five on and lapping all cars except second place. The 2012 event was a thriller with Mark Wauge and Robert Jenner battling in the final laps with Wauge securing the lead on lap ninety-four to hang on for the win.
The Dancin Bare is a gentleman’s club located in the city of Portland at 8440 N Interstate Avenue. The facility features three large televisions, three stages, and features all of the popular lottery games. At Dancin Bear there is no dress code nor is there a cover charge.
