Farrar Scores First Street Stock Win Of 2014 At Sunset

The Street Stocks were on tap as a support class for the Saturday July 19th event at Sunset Speedway Park. Thirteen entries would sign in on the registration sheets at the “Banks Bullring”.
Freya Smith from McMinnville would pace the field early in her Sweere's Auto Body/Sweere's Trucking/Tire Factory of McMinnville #37 Camaro. She would lead until lap five when West Linn’s Brian Roden would make the pass for the top spot.
Roden would lead for much of the remaining distance in his JNR Construction/Molecular Motion Inc./Dockweiler Stainless Steel Tube Systems #14 Camaro. With just seven laps to go Marc Farrar, out of Sherwood, would overtake Roden and Farrar would capture his first win of the 2014 campaign for him and the A.F.T. Racing Engines/Aftermarket Enterprises #5 Camaro.
Brian Roden would place second while third went to Vancouver, Washington’s Danny O’Neil Jr. in his Eric's Frame Shop/All-American Classics/Sign Of The Times/Tom's Performance #96 Monte Carlo. The DVC Machine/Meyers Auto Body #19 Monte Carlo of Tony Catalano from Forest Grove was fourth followed by Freya Smith in fifth.
The Street Stocks will be back in action at SSP on Sunday July 20th for another night of racing along with the 4-Bee’s with Racing scheduled to get underway right around 5:00 PM.
Tickets are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a Family Pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00. Also the Sunday event will have a Carload Special, which gets a carload, truck¬load, RV-load, etc. of fans into the races for only $25. For more information log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com.
