Sunset Speedway Park To Host Micro Madness This Saturday June 28th

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park will get back into the swing of things this Saturday June 28th as they will host the Micro Madness. The first leg of the Micro Madness will be contested at Cottage Grove Speedway on Friday June 27th and conclude on Saturday the 28th at SSP. In addition to the Micro Sprints the Northwest Wingless Tour (along with the Oregon Double Shot Series), Street Stocks, 4-Bee’s, and the WRS Late Model Lites will all be racing too.
In the first three races there have been three different winners with the Northwest Wingless Tour. Colin Baker won the first one in Cottage Grove while Mike Romig and Sean Johnson scored the latest two victories up at Grays Harbor Raceway. John Ireland has been the driver to beat in Street Stock competition winning three of the first five races. Earl Claypool Jr. and Brian Roden each have one win.
In 4-Bee’s Travis Koch and John Gartner each have two win a piece to tie for the most wins this year. Stan Asanovic and Bo Jones are the two drivers to have visited victory lane on just one occasion. In the 600cc Open Micros Kaitlyn Hammer, Dustin O’Brien, and Spud Allen have been the three different winners in as many races while Jesse Schlotfeldt has had a perfect record in the 600cc Restricted Micros.
Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 3:30, and racing starts at 6:00. Tickets for the event are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a Family Pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
