With the rain out on Saturday September 28th the 2013 championships would be decided at Sunset Speedway Park. In the six championship classes three titlists would obtain their first ever crowns. Also one driver managed to back up his 2012 crown with a track championship this year.
Mitch Hoffses would become the second different champion in two years with the Northwest Extreme Sprints after he dominated the class all year long. Rob Ireland would be the guy atop the points table when it was all said and done to capture his first career IMCA Modified title at SSP. In the debut year of the Northwest Extreme Modified Rick Graham would nearly go undefeated by winning every single race but one.
Craig Loomis claimed his fourth career title at Sunset Speedway Park and his third in his Street Stocks as he continues to prove everyone he is the guy to beat. Earning his second 4-Bee championship, he would win it in 2011, Mike Mastrangelo held on to his forty-eight point lead in the title race. Last but not least after years of trying Freya Smith would emerge the champion of the Womens division winning all but one main event.
Again congratulations to all of our champions and we can’t wait to see everyone at the awards banquet on November 16th. For the latest news regarding SSP be sure and log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com.
