SSP Has Full Card Back At Banks Bullring

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park will be back in full swing this Saturday July 13th. Coming of the Firecracker 100 on Independence Day the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series will return to SSP. Also on the card will include the IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, and the Womens division. Sunday the 14th will be the first race of the season for the 300-Lap Enduro Series as well as an open practice for all divisions.
So far the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series has visited the Banks bullring on five occasions. In those five visits Greg Walters has won three times, including the Firecracker 100, and Collen Winebarger has two triumphs. In five IMCA Modified events there have been five different victors. The win list includes Kenny Miller, Jeremy Martin, Doug Lockwood, Jesse Williamson, and Rob Ireland.
Brian Roden leads the Street Stock ranks when it comes to wins with three. Defending champion Craig Loomis has two while John Ireland and Tony Catalno have one each. Freya Smith will look to continue her perfect record this Saturday as she has won all six events in the Womens division.
Front gates open up at 3:30 PM with racing scheduled to start at 6:00 PM. Admission is Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military $10.00, Children (6-12) $5.00, Children (5 and Under) FREE, and Family Pack (Two Adults and Two Children) $30.00.
Sunday July 14th will be the first race of the 300-Lap Iron Man Enduro Series. General admission to the race is FREE while Pit Passes are $25.00. Pit gates open up at 10:00 am, pit meeting at Noon, and racing will begin around 1:00 PM.
The Sunset Speedway Park is located just west of the Portland metro area in Banks on the Sunset Highway. From April until October you can get your racing fix at this facility which competes weekly primarily on Saturday nights. Regular classes in action include the NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Bee’s, NW Extreme Modifieds, and the Womens division.
