First Round Of IMCA Modified Madness This Saturday At Banks

Banks, Oregon- Fans of the Sunset Speedway Park will be delighted to see that the IMCA Modifieds will be making their return on Saturday June 8th. After an absence of over a month the “Mighty Mods” will compete on the Banks bullring for the third time in 2013. Already in the first two races some wonderful action has taken place with each race coming down to the final laps.
“I’m excited to get back to my hometrack at Banks,” commented an enthusiastic Kenny Miller.
The race will be the first leg of a two race IMCA Modified Madness mini-series. The first race is Saturday while the second race will take place at the Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington on July 6th.
As mentioned above there have been two IMCA Modified races so far this year at SSP. In those two races there have been two different winners. Kenny Miller and Jeremy Martin are the first drivers to earn triumphs this year in the division.
For Saturday’s action the front gates open up at 3:30 PM with racing scheduled to start at 6:00 PM. Admission is Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military $10.00, Children (6-12) $5.00, Children (5 and Under) FREE, and Family Pack (Two Adults and Two Children) $30.00.
The Sunset Speedway Park is located just west of the Portland metro area in Banks on the Sunset Highway. From April until October you can get your racing fix at this facility which competes weekly primarily on Saturday nights. Regular classes in action include the NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Bee’s, NW Extreme Modifieds, and the Womens division.
