We are excited to announce a new partnership with SRC Motorsports at the Banks Bullring. The American Classic Division will race under their banner in 2024. What started as a local race team, grew to add in a race parts sales division in 2014 based out of Portland, Oregon. SRC Motorsports is owned and operated by, Robert Summerhalder, our 2022 champion in the division that he will now help as the presenting sponsor.
We reached out to Robert on his thoughts about this deal, and working with his home track. He had this to say, “Since the inception of SRC Motorsports, Sunset Speedway Park has been its home. This is a great opportunity to give back to a division and track I have had great success in and a track I love. I look forward to our partnership with the American Classics division and Sunset Speedway Park in 2024. I wish all the drivers in the American Classics a fantastic season!”
The American Classics powered by SRC Motorsports will be featured on 15 race nights in 2024 at the Banks Bullring. The division is among one of the fan favorites at the Speedway, with a strong following each night. The excitement grows all season in the class, as the drivers biggest night approaches on July 20th, when they will once again be the feature division in our oldest race on the calendar, the Jim’s 100. Last year saw 49 different racers run a race in the division, with Rod Lowe taking home the 2023 championship. Who will take home the crown in 2024?
